Presently the two educational centers at Bankura and Purulia are being run by the
contribution of the members and well wishers of Oikotan. For further developments and
smooth running of the centers, we are looking for financial assistance from
both in and outside the country. We welcome donations to support our projects in any form-
cash or kind. Support in kind may include old text books or other reading materials that may
be suitable for the libraries at these centers.
We also have proposal to generate funding through the initiation of computer classes in a
school of Bankura town, the profit of which would be used to support the two rural literacy centers.
Therefore, donation of a few computers perhaps outdated now but sufficient to run computer basics in the
proposed computer education is welcome.
As our intention is to motivate the villagers themselves to make these centers self-sustaining,
we are encouraging them to come up with cottage and agro-based industries, horticulture etc.
Interested persons may contact the public relation team of Oikotan at jogoikotan@yahoo.com.
