Oikotan is currently engaged in spreading the light of education, health consciousness
and livelihood amongst the rural youth. At present two centers are being run in West Bengal : one in the
Village Dhara about 15 kms from Joyrambati in Bankura and the other in the Village Dhadkidih about the same
distance from Purulia district town. We envision asfollows:-
Aims and Objectives
To undertake constructive activities for the welfare of children, youth, family, and community, in general. To open several educational centres to enlighten the children of different localities. To help the needy students for the continuation of their higher studies. To establish and maintain Public Libraries for the needy students. To provide training and means for the improvement of agricultural system and to develop cottage and agro-based industries. To arrange different welfare programmes, such as nutrition consciousness, family planning, first-aid education, medical check-up, blood donation camp, distribution of medicines, etc. To develop a clean and pollution free environment. To develop the awareness of health and hygiene among the common people.
